History of School
In 1960, forty acres on South I Road were purchased and the construction of PSJA Early College High School would begin. The new campus had a college complex layout with each department having its own building. The high school was completed in 1961. Additions would later be built, including the Vocational Building in 1968. Final construction was completed in 1982 and 1983, with the addition of M Annex, C.V. Cain Baseball Field, and Santos Salinas P.E. and Band Complex.

In 1998, a groundbreaking ceremony would be held to begin construction for a new PSJA Early College High School located directly south of the older one. The new facility would be two stories with all administration, faculty, staff and students in one building. Construction was completed during the summer of 2000. The doors were officially opened to students during the 2000 - 2001 school year with an Iron "B" placed at the far west corner of the campus marking the area as "Bear Territory". The former PSJA High School became San Juan Middle School.
